I had a beautifull day to work Brat and Ag Saturday. I did not get any company for them, but otherwise things went very well. I worked Brat 4 furlongs and the average time for that work at Paradise Farms is 51-52 and Brat pulled a 52.3 after havomg to go around a low spot with water. He was wide half way through the turn. I will enter him for Sunday at Sam Houston in a non winners of two in a life time alowance race for Texas Breds going 5.5. You never know what you'll catch in one of these races. Ag was to walk through the gates and gallop to the half mile pole and then work 4 furlongs. He broke from the gates surprizing the jock and me and took off. I could not believe what I saw. He worked 6 furlongs as the Jock let him run and when she pulled him up, he ran away with her. She pulled him up after the full 6 furlongs. The really nice thing is neither boy showed any signs of going too fast or too much. Their legs are cool and they are eatting everything. Liz and Charley thanks for the reply.

I worked Brat and Spingoli last week 3 furlongs and the work did put them on their toes all week long. I had to start giving them less laps (down to 30) because of their speed. I chased Ag all week just to get him tired somewhat. Today I worked Brat and Ag 3furlongs and Old Ag just about flew. He did too much, but he cleaned-up tonight and looked for more. I am going to try to race Ag and Brat in Houston in March. They are progressing as I would like. Brat lived up to name and scared the poor boy to the point that we almost had to pry his hands from the reins, but we got a fair work. I will try to find company for them next week and get a time. If anyone out there lives around Longview,Texas and can ride please contact me. I need a reliable rider with more sense than courage.
